Job summary

CMX Powersports is seeking a Small Engine Mechanic to service and repair golf cars (gas and electric) and other small engine equipment. This busy, family-owned shop offers year-round work and opportunities for hands-on training.

You will diagnose and repair batteries, chargers, controllers, wiring, and perform tune-ups; service mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and generators; and maintain service records with a customer-friendly approach.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with small engine and electrical experience.
• Asset: experience with golf cars, powersports or automotive service; will train the right person.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Customer-facing responsibilities may be involved.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair gas and electric golf cars, including batteries, chargers, controllers, and wiring.
• Service small engines: mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, generators, and similar equipment.
• Perform engine work: carburetion, fuel systems, belts, clutches, brakes, and tune-ups.
• Complete seasonal fleet prep, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Order and track parts, and keep accurate service records.
• Assist with pre-delivery inspection and customer walkarounds.
