Job summary

Winpak is seeking a MBVS Slitting Supervisor based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the Senior Extrusion Manager, the supervisor, on a per crew basis, effectively manages all aspects of the MultiBarrier Slitting processes, with the goal of maintaining continuous improvement in all key performance areas and maintaining a focus on safety, quality and productivity.

This on-site role is located at 100 Saulteaux Crescent, Winnipeg MB, in Murray Industrial Park.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education; post secondary education an asset.
• 5+ years experience within a manufacturing environment.
• 1+ year experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts as required including days and nights.

Responsibilities

• Develop a culture of Zero Injuries with training, Job Hazard Analysis, Energy Isolation Plans, and safety awareness and commitment.
• Monitor daily progress and provide regularly updated performance measurements to hourly staff.
• Improve production systems through the establishment of standard work and process procedures and providing regular reinforcement and feedback to hourly staff.
• Maintain production requirements for safety, quality, productivity, excess waste, training, and housekeeping.
