Job summary

Kieswetter Excavating Inc. is seeking a Skid Steer Operator to join our Waterloo Region-based team. You will work on site with a focus on precision grading, trenching, and general heavy civil tasks using GPS-equipped equipment.

Responsibilities include operating, inspecting, and maintaining skid steer machinery, reading site plans, and coordinating with crew to ensure safety and schedule adherence. Overtime and travel within Southern Ontario may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel to the Waterloo Region.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather.
  • Regular overtime at assigned job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Works as a team with all types of hand tools.
  • Inspects and maintains equipment when operating.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.
  • Complies with the Company Safety Program.
  • Organizes job awareness and methods.
  • Communicates discrepancies and plans ahead.
  • Maintains cognizant planning of tasks.

Skills Required:
  • Able to set up lasers, understand grades, layouts and reading plans.
  • Can read and understand locates.
  • Experience setting manholes, geotextile, drainage, weeping tile, foundations.
  • Can execute fine detail work around curbs and sidewalks.
  • Can run, operate and inspect hand and power tools.
General Ability:
  • Must be able to travel to the Waterloo Region.
  • Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites.
  • Valid Driver s License.
  • Ability to communicate and take direction.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. repetitively.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in an outdoor environment.
  • Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to recognize, communicate and eliminate hazards.
Responsibilities:

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime.
  • Ability to work 10-14hours a day.
Work Location:

Mostly Waterloo Region some travel in Southern Ontario.
