Job summary

Franklincontracting is hiring a Skilled Labourer to take on measurement, layout, material prep, and hands-on support across residential and light-commercial builds in the SD&G and Cornwall area.

You will measure, cut, and prep materials to spec, support tradespeople on framing and finish tasks, operate power tools safely, maintain clean, safe work areas, and follow PPE requirements, with a clear path to grow toward Carpenter Apprentice.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand/power tools on construction sites.
• Able to measure and read basic plans.
• Reliable, punctual and physically capable of skilled labour.

We're hiring a Skilled Labourer to take on measurement, layout, material prep, and hands-on support of our tradespeople across residential and light-commercial builds in the SD&G and Cornwall area.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and prep materials to spec
• Support tradespeople directly on framing and finish tasks
• Operate power tools safely and independently
• Maintain organized, safe work areas and proper tool care
• Follow all site safety protocols and PPE requirements

Skills & Experience

• Prior experience with hand/power tools on a construction site
• Comfortable taking measurements and reading basic plans
• Reliable, punctual, and physically able to perform skilled manual labour
• General Labourer experience (with FGC or elsewhere) is an asset
• Personal hand tools and basic power tools
• PPE: steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest

Compensation

• $24.00–$28.00/hour to start, based on experience
• Full-time — Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry and Cornwall, Ontario area
• Clear, structured path to increase both pay and title as you gain experience, with room to grow toward Carpenter Apprentice.
