What You’ll Do

As the Site Supervisor, you willdeliver Dyno Nobel’s non-negotiable Zero Harm safety program as well as the company’s financial objectives at our Detour Lake mining facility in ON. Other duties will include:

• Ensuring that company policies, safe work practices, hazard analysis, and standard operating procedures are up-to-date and followed by the employees
• Implement Dyno Nobel Blasting SOPs/ExMS
• Compile blast reports (paper and electronic)
• Assist with blast site hazard assessments to ensure the blast site is a safe work environment for all involved
• Communicate all relevant information to the blast crew, including a review of the hazard assessment through the safety tailgate meeting
• Ensure that all equipment to be used in that operation is in good operating condition and maintenance systems /schedules followed
• Ensure that all regulations, both federally (TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially (Blasting Safety and OH&S Regulations) are adhered to within the operation with regards to personnel workings, product storage, and product transportation
• Time and payroll management

What We’re Looking For:

• Post-secondary education related to Drilling, Blasting, Mining or Mineral resources or similar Project Management Education
• Project management experience with a focus on Open Pit Mining desired
• 3+years experience in Project Management/ or Mining / or Drill and Blast
• Must have good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SAP also an asset
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in the terminology related to the field in the form of verbal and written reports
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
