Rock Tools Site Supervisor

Location: Lively, ON, Timmins, ON or Thunder Bay, ON

Currently, we have an opening for a Rock Tools Site Supervisor. As the Supervisor, you are responsible for the supervision of employees to ensure work is completed in compliance with company quality and safety standards within area of responsibility, with a particular focus on installations at our customer sites.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Participate as part of the workshop team in order to implement initiatives as defined by the Service Manager.
  • Ensure workshop personnel complete accurate requisitions as required for work orders.
  • Oversee work orders and shop jobs to ensure successful completion.
  • Assign duties to workshop personnel in order to meet operational requirements and delivery dates.
  • Respond to customer inquiries on work order status.
  • Ensure conformance to company quality standards.
  • Monitor job cost and provide feedback to appropriate personnel.
  • Notify manager of any significant deviations from planned work.
  • Stay current with industry, customer and product developments.
  • Coach, motivate, train, evaluate and lead team members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the workshop.
  • Manage the performance and ensure compliance with company policies for all workshop personnel under their direction.
  • Participate in workshop and personnel scheduling and monitor and approve attendance and work hours.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to supervisor.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by manager.

Safety and Environment

  • Ensure that all workshop personnel under direct supervision are working in accordance with legislative and company required safety and environmental policies and standards.
  • Comply with SMR safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
  • Responsibility to identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and/or near misses.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements for team in area of responsibility.
  • Maintain hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain an orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met.

What You Will Bring Along

  • Five (5) years of experience with related industry equipment.
  • Previous knowledge or experience with Sandvik equipment would be an asset.
  • Ability to lead a team to achieve required targets.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product rebuild.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work in both French and English is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Strong numerical ability and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
