Job summary

Cameco Corporation’s Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to manage batch plant and waste management equipment and to operate various mobile equipment. The role requires a strong focus on safety, communication, and teamwork within a two-week on/ two-week off rotation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, a Class 2 license, and the ability to work from aircraft access to the site.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• At least five years of relevant work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
• Valid Class 2 driver’s license.
• Experience with dozer, 872 grader, 644 & 744 loaders, track hoe, and 35-ton rock truck.
• Safety-oriented team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Mechanically inclined with knowledge of equipment and hand tools.
• Able to clearly communicate with team members when needed.
• Willingness to perform manual labour as required.
• Must be proficient with using computers, including Microsoft Office/365.
• Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete batch plant and waste management equipment.
• Operate mobile equipment, including loaders, sand trucks, buses, skid steer, and vac trucks.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with safety policies; complete daily operator care rounds; assist with maintenance as appropriate.
• Perform manual labour as required, including regular lifting of materials and luggage.
