Job summary

Securitas Canada Limited is seeking a Security Site Operations Manager to lead the security team at a datacenter in Richmond Hill, ON. You will partner with the local branch, recruit and onboard staff, coach, and ensure policy compliance.

This role reports to the Campus Security Manager Canada and involves client service and SOC system tasks as needed. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of site security management, reliability clearance eligibility, a vehicle for GTA travel, and strong leadership

Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of site security management experience at large client sites.
  • Experience developing and maintaining large-scale security operations at airports, data centres, or high-security sites.
  • Eligible for a reliability clearance through the Federal Government of Canada.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and maintain high performing security teams.
  • Own vehicle and able to travel to multiple sites within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Knowledge of security operations including access control systems and methods.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices including assigning work, training and discipline.
  • Capable of learning various security and safety devices and controls.
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.
  • Advanced computer skills; professional composure in unusual circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manages site security personnel; collaborates with local branch for recruitment and onboarding.

  • Aids with equipment inspections and audit compliance.
  • Maintains security documentation per policies and procedures.
  • Acts as primary contact to datacenter management when CSM is unavailable.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Keeps management informed of major accomplishments and issues.
  • Identifies security gaps and suggests improvements to the program.

Position Overview:

The Security Site Operations Manager (SSM) serves as the day-to-day manager of a site security team that includes administrative security guards, security responders, security supervisors, control room supervisors and other security personnel at a client's datacenter. The SSM is responsible for building a cohesive and high performing team. Reporting directly to the Campus Security Manager (CSM) Canada, the SSM works alongside other security team managers in their campus to ensure a safe and secure environment. Additional job functions may include client service and problem resolution, service enhancement, Security Operations Center (SOC) systems maintenance, audit compliance, system monitoring, log maintenance, and access rights maintenance.

Salary: $90,000-100,000/yr
Position Location: Richmond Hill, ON

This position is an active open vacancy for a new client site.

Essential Functions:
  • Actively manages site security personnel; partners with the local branch to recruit and hire, oversee onboarding, training, and development at the datacenter.
  • Coach's' security personnel and carries out disciplinary actions in accordance with current policy.
  • Ensures all security responders and control room supervisors adhere to policies and standard operating procedures, acting as responder or control room supervisor in periods of increased activity or in the case of absent staff.
  • Ensures site health and key performance indicator goals are met or exceeded; works with the CSM to enhance security team effectiveness and performance.
  • Conducts recalling audits, prepares, and submits critical and confidential information directly to client management team.
  • Oversees site security systems to ensure safe and compliant operation of the facility.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots on-site security technology.
  • Assists with site equipment inspections, and audit compliance.
  • Maintains required security documentation, ensuring accuracy in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Serves as primary point of contact to datacenter management and security personnel when the CSM is unavailable.
  • Performs additional tasks assigned by management.
  • Keeps management informed of major accomplishments, issues, and concerns.
  • Identifies security shortfalls and offers suggestions from improving the security program.
  • Evaluates and escalates potential safety issues within the facility.
  • Required to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Notify supervisor upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
  • Identifies security shortfalls and gaps and offers suggestions for improving the security program.
Qualifications:
  • 6 or more years of site security management experience managing teams of security guards and supervisors at large client sites.

  • Experience with developing and maintaining large scale security operations at large sites such as airports, data centres or sites where security is high.

  • Eligible for a reliability clearance through the Federal Government of Canada.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and maintain high performing security teams.

  • Own vehicle and able to travel to multiple sites within the Greater Toronto Area.

  • Knowledge of security operations including access control systems, access control methods.
