Job Description:

The Industrial Engineer Technician has primary responsibility across the Value Streams and Site for KPI tracking and establishing targets annually, periodically, weekly, and daily. This role supports development of and tracking against Value Stream and Site budget parameters including waste, labor, and expenses. The IE Technician is responsible for establishing rates and conducting the rate review process and will also work closely with the CI team to use data analysis in identifying and observing continuous improvement opportunities (particularly VLiC driven) and validating results.

The IE Technician is also a member of the FI Pillar and supports continued progression in focused improvement through standards development that supports the site in delivering its master plan.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering) preferred, however other analytical functions may suffice (ex. Data Scientist).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (GMP) preferred.
  • Strong experience in mapping and planning, problem solving, financial acumen, and broader supply chain are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, familiar with operational systems like Microsoft Suite and PowerBI.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex data analysis, Macro/VBA scripting).
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools for process optimization and waste reduction (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, control charts, FMEA, Kaizen, Kanban) is an asset.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Develop and apply methods to analyze plant performance indicators.
  • Evaluate data to assess project effectiveness pre- and post-implementation.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize operations and reduce costs within a value stream.
  • Identify plant losses and support remediation planning and execution.
  • Manage operational and financial performance of value streams.
  • Create project documentation for capital funding requests aligned with organizational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive performance initiatives.
  • Apply LEAN manufacturing tools and techniques; utilize MSE tools for standardization.
  • Conduct studies to identify and quantify operational and capacity constraints.
  • Report KPIs and lead KPI-based action plans for performance improvement.
  • Analyze bottleneck capacities and evaluate process constraints for throughput enhancement.
  • Develop equipment layouts and operational designs aligned with long-term plant goals.
  • Evaluate information system needs for data collection and analysis, ensuring clear communication of results.
  • Set line performance standards and KPIs impacting safety, quality, customer service, and costs.
  • Collaborate with Site Leadership, IE Manager, and stakeholders to achieve and report on objectives, including external regional and global leaders.
  • Work closely with the Continuous Improvement Team and operations (production and maintenance) to identify waste elimination opportunities using tools like Time Studies.
