Job summary

Wild Ridge Landscapes is hiring Winter Sidewalk Crew Members in Ottawa to safely assist with snow removal on commercial and residential properties.

This fixed-term, part-time role runs from November 2025 through April 2026 with a pay rate of $21-$25 per hour. We offer opportunities for growth, professional development, and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Flexibility and on-call availability
• Responsible for all winter snow clearing and related activities as assigned by crew leaders and supervisors
• Assisting teammates to efficiently clear large areas
• Clearing snow using tools like snowblowers, shovels, and rakes
• Salting and de-icing sidewalks, stairs, driveways, and entrances
• Marking safety hazards on clients' properties with appropriate signage
• Heavy lifting is a requirement and a key part of the job
• Safe handling of gasoline, oils, diesel fuels, grease and other equipment related fluids etc.
• Shop work, vehicle and equipment maintenance activities as assigned
• Willingness to work in all types of weather and at irregular times

Job Title: Winter Sidewalk Crew Member

Job Type: Fixed-term part-time contract (November 2025-April 2026)

Pay Rate: $21-$25 per hour

Main Purpose of Job: Safely and efficiently assist in completing an assigned snow route with the necessary equipment.

Reports to: Winter Sidewalk Crew Lead

Duties and Responsibilities

Working Conditions:

• Employees will be asked to work in mild to very cold weather conditions. This may include icy roads and stormy skies
• In all seasons, employees need to be prepared to be asked to work in rainy conditions and to bring appropriate gear such as rain jackets
• Crew members can expect to occasionally be exposed to chemicals such as gasoline and lubricants

Physical Requirements:

Strength Guidelines

• Can expect to be asked to lift up to 50 lbs.

Motion Parameters

• Crew members can expect to be on their feet for long periods of time. The job requires walking, bending and repetitive lifting
