Job summary

Wild Ridge Landscapes in Ottawa is seeking a Winter Equipment Operator for a fixed-term contract from November 2025 to April 2026. You will safely manage an assigned snow route using skid steer, plow and other equipment, with on-call flexibility and strong safety standards.

Job Title:

Winter Equipment Operator

Job Type:

Fixed-term contract (November 2025-April 2026)

Pay Rate:

$27-$35 per hour

Main Purpose of Job:

Safely and efficiently manage an assigned snow route with the necessary equipment.

Reports to:

Snow Division Manager

Regional Winter Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Requires flexibility and on-call availability
  • Safely operate one or more of the following equipment: skid steer, plow truck, salt truck, tractor with plow, loader
  • Responsible for all winter snow clearing, salting, and related activities as assigned by managers and supervisors
  • Responsible for completing assigned routs in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ensuring that Company’s high safety and quality standards are followed
  • Responsible for timesheets and other required documentation to be done accurately and in a timely manner, using company software applications such as LMN and Slack
  • Heavy lifting is a requirement and a key part of the job
  • Safe handling of gasoline, oils, diesel fuels, grease and other equipment related fluids etc.
  • Shop work, vehicle and equipment maintenance activities as assigned
  • Willingness to work in all types of weather and at irregular times
Working Conditions:
  • Employees will be asked to work in mild to very cold weather conditions. This may include icy roads and stormy skies
  • In all seasons, employees need to be prepared to be asked to work in rainy conditions and to bring appropriate gear such as rain jackets
  • Crew members can expect to occasionally be exposed to chemicals such as gasoline and lubricants
Physical Requirements:

  • Can expect to be asked to lift up to 50 lbs.
Motion Parameters
  • Crew members can expect to be on their feet for long periods of time. The job requires walking, bending and repetitive lifting
