Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Montréal-Est, QC, is seeking motivated individuals for a full-time railcar operations role. Work Monday to Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., under the foreman’s supervision in reception, movement, and preparation of railcars on site.

You’ll load and secure materials, shuttle railcars, and ensure safety checks and load compliance. Prior manufacturing and heavy equipment experience is preferred, with welding knowledge considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, cranes, and shuttle trains.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards and applying them rigorously.
  • Autonomous, responsible, and conscientious in daily work.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

  • Receive railcars and operate shuttle train to position them on tracks.
  • Load materials into railcars using appropriate machinery and weigh to ensure proper load.
  • Maintain tracks, switches, and pivot points, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Cut oversized metal parts using a torch following safety procedures.
  • Perform safety checks before and after using rail equipment.
  • Carry out related tasks as required by operations or supervisor directives.

Job Description
We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join our team in Montréal-Est, Québec, from Monday to Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. You will work under the supervision of the foreman in the reception, movement, and preparation of railcars on site.
