Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking Seasonal Class 1 and Class 3 Drivers/Operators to join our turnaround team on a temporary basis in Canada. The role requires safely operating, driving, and maintaining manual transmission units (13/18 speed) such as vacuum, combo, and water trucks, with 100% travel for projects from March to November 2026 and potential permanent placement.

On-the-job training is provided, travel and accommodations are covered, PPE is supplied, and multiple shift options are available

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license.
  • 5-year driving abstract with minimal demerits.
  • Ability to complete a driver evaluation.
  • Safety tickets preferred (H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space).
  • Common Safety Orientation prior to onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive manual transmission units (13/18 speed).
  • Operate high-pressure water blasting tools up to 40K PSI.
  • Maintain Hours of Service logs in an ELD system.
  • Work in confined spaces and transport hazardous goods.
  • Collaborate with clients, coworkers and supervisors.

Job description

Clean Harbors is looking for Seasonal Class 1 and Class 3 Drivers/Operators to join our turnaround team on a temporary basis. This position requires the candidate to safely operate, drive, and maintain Manual Transmission (13 or 18 speed) Class 1 or Class 3 units, such as vacuum, combo, and water trucks.

You would be supporting projects that require 100% travel. Availability is necessary for training starting in March with projects spanning August to November 2026 with the potential to join our team in a permanent role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Operate, drive and stage various manual transmission units (i.e., High-Pressure, Hydrovac, Combo and Vac);
  • Operate various high-pressure water blasting tools and equipment at pressures up to 40K PSI;
  • Maintain and certify Hours of Service by completing logs in an ELD system (Samsara);
  • Work in confined spaces such as vessels and tanks under supplied air and may
  • Transport hazardous goods;
  • Perform general labor duties as assigned, including the use of hand/power tools;
  • Work as part of a team with Clients, Co-workers & Supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experienced driving manual transmissions (13 & 18 speed) with a valid Class 1 or 3 Drivers License;
  • Provide a 5-year driver’s abstract with no more than 3 demerits.
  • Must successfully complete a Clean Harbors driver evaluation;
  • Safety tickets preferred (i.e., H2S Alive, ESC Fall Protection, ESC Confined Space Entry);
  • Common Safety Orientation required prior to onboarding.
  • Previous Vacuum Truck and/or High-Pressure unit operating experience preferred;
  • Willing to travel for extended periods of time and work 8-13-hour shifts;
  • Flexibility to work day shift or night shift as required;
  • Previous shutdown/turnaround experience is an asset.
