Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Shopping Centre Security Guard in Winnipeg, MB. You will read environments, anticipate risks and act accordingly, patrolling interior and exterior areas throughout your shift.

Responsibilities include site perimeter and interior patrols, access control, incident reporting, and maintaining a professional security presence to deter incidents. Training through GardaWorld Academy is available.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a Manitoba security license
• First aid certification is asset
• Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Calm and professional under pressure
• Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
• Able to patrol for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather
• Basic computer skills for reporting and incident documentation

Responsibilities

• Conduct exterior perimeter inspections at the beginning of each shift.
• Perform regular interior and exterior patrols of the property during the shift.
• Secure designated access points by door lock procedures and checking for tampering or unauthorized access.
• Complete final patrol before end of shift.
• Maintain professional, visible security presence to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor and respond to trespassing, vandalism, loitering, theft, or other security concerns.
• Patrol assigned areas on foot and stay alert to safety risks.
• Provide excellent customer service and professional assistance to tenants, visitors, contractors, and the public.
• Accurately document incidents and observations in daily reports.
• Act as a positive GardaWorld representative to property ownership groups.
• Communicate concerns to management and emergency services when required

Responsibilities for Shopping Centre Security Guard

• Conduct exterior perimeter inspections at the beginning of each shift.
• Perform regular interior and exterior patrols of the property throughout the shift.
• Secure all designated access points by completing door lock procedures and checking for signs of tampering or unauthorized access.
• Conduct comprehensive building and perimeter inspections after the property has been secured for the evening.
• Complete a final patrol of the premises before the end of each shift.
• Maintain a professional and visible security presence to promote safety and deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor for and respond to incidents involving trespassing, vandalism, loitering, theft, or other security concerns.
• Patrol assigned areas on foot while remaining alert to potential safety and security risks.
• Provide excellent customer service and professional assistance to tenants, visitors, contractors, and members of the public.
• Accurately document incidents, observations, and activities in daily reports.
• Act as a positive representative of both GardaWorld and the property ownership group at all times.
• Communicate security concerns, hazards, and incidents promptly to management and emergency services when required.

Qualifications for Shopping Centre Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid Manitoba security license
• First aid certification - as asset
• Ability to stand and walk throughoutshift
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to patrol for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Basic computers skills for reporting writing and incident documentation
