Job summary

Solotech in Montreal is seeking a Workshop Technician 1 to prepare, inspect, maintain and briefly repair audiovisual equipment. You will ensure equipment is in working order, clean, and compliant with quality standards before use or shipping.

You will handle packing and staging, follow safety guidelines, report issues, and support a team focused on delivering reliable gear for live productions and installations.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a workshop, warehouse, or in audiovisual.
• Interest in the audiovisual and technical fields.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and handle equipment.
• Flexibility regarding work schedule.
• Ability to follow procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and cabling according to purchase orders.
• Ensure that equipment is brought up to standard before it is returned to inventory or put into use.
• Place equipment in the appropriate locations in the returns and shipping racks, sorting areas, and logistics hub.
• Move and store equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and proper handling procedures.
• Clean equipment and perform a visual inspection to identify damage, defects, or signs of wear.
• Report any equipment that is damaged, defective, or requires further attention to the appropriate staff.
• Keep workspaces and traffic areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Adhere to the company’s and industry’s quality standards and preparation guidelines.
• Perform all other duties related to the position.
