What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service, and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including skid steers, mini-excavators, booms, scissor lifts, telehandlers, generators, air compressors, compaction, and small engine equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and make necessary repairs. Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Lead a team of mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Maintain an organized shop, prioritize work, and assist technicians with troubleshooting minor mechanical repairs.
- Supervise mechanics and yard staff to ensure priorities are met, and repairs are effectively completed.
- Track and assign repairs and maintenance, developing practical solutions.
- Provide high-quality customer service during interactions with customers.
- Coordinate with the Parts & Service Coordinator to provide accurate timelines for equipment preparation.
- Complete shop paperwork timely and maintain accurate service records.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting and testing repaired equipment.
- Promote a safe work environment by maintaining cleanliness and following safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Significant experience as a mechanic on various construction equipment.
- 310T or 421A license is an asset but not required; equivalent experience considered.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic tools and computer applications.
- Valid G license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Own tools.
- High mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and fixing problems.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and foster a positive team environment.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for professional interaction.
- Continuous improvement mindset and pride in work.
