What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service, and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including skid steers, mini-excavators, booms, scissor lifts, telehandlers, generators, air compressors, compaction, and small engine equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and make necessary repairs. Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Lead a team of mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Maintain an organized shop, prioritize work, and assist technicians with troubleshooting minor mechanical repairs.
  • Supervise mechanics and yard staff to ensure priorities are met, and repairs are effectively completed.
  • Track and assign repairs and maintenance, developing practical solutions.
  • Provide high-quality customer service during interactions with customers.
  • Coordinate with the Parts & Service Coordinator to provide accurate timelines for equipment preparation.
  • Complete shop paperwork timely and maintain accurate service records.
  • Ensure quality control by inspecting and testing repaired equipment.
  • Promote a safe work environment by maintaining cleanliness and following safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Significant experience as a mechanic on various construction equipment.
  • 310T or 421A license is an asset but not required; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostic tools and computer applications.
  • Valid G license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract.
  • Own tools.
  • High mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and fixing problems.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively lead and foster a positive team environment.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for professional interaction.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and pride in work.
