Job summary

BMP Supplies, a 20+ year-old family-owned company, is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Shop Foreman for its Brooks, Alberta location. The role involves directing a crew, managing inventory, yard operations, and coordinating contractor work while ensuring safety and reliability on site.

The ideal candidate is reliable, self-directed, hands-on, and safety conscious, with English communication skills, a trade background (preferred) and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• Clear direction to a crew and follow through.
• Clear English communication with crew, vendors, carriers and records.
• Trade background or hands-on mechanical experience preferred.
• Forklift certification required or willingness to certify; telehandler an asset.
• Detail oriented.
• Valid Alberta driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Resident of Brooks or the immediate area, for occasional call-ins.
• Basic computer skills for printing and inputting simple records.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Report to and take daily direction from the General Manager, and act as on-site contact.
• Direct and coordinate crew on daily priorities and tasks.
• Complete counts for finished goods and raw materials; check customer orders against finished goods.
• Keep the yard and buildings orderly; perform minor repairs and maintenance.
• Facilitate on-site meetings with contractors and report progress to the General Manager.
• Operate forklift to unload and stage material; pick up parts and fuel.

Shop & Yard Foreman - Brooks, Alberta

BMP Supplies, a 20+ year-old family-owned company, is seeking a Full-Time Permanent Shop Foreman for its Brooks, Alberta location. Reporting to the General Manager, the Shop Foreman keeps the facilities recurring work on track — crew, inventory, buildings and yard, contractors and customer orders. The ideal candidate must be reliable, self-directed, hands‑on, and safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Direction & Support: Report to and take daily direction from the General Manager, complete assigned tasks, and act as his on-site point of contact.
• Crew Coordination: Direct and coordinate crew on daily priorities and assigned tasks set by the General Manager.
• Inventory & Customer Orders: Complete counts for finished goods and raw materials, report discrepancies, and check customer orders against finished goods.
• Buildings, Yard & Maintenance: Keep the yard and buildings orderly, carry out minor repairs and monthly checks, and assist the Production Technicians on blanket and wattle machines.
• Contractors & Projects: Facilitate on-site meetings, escort contractors, and report progress to the General Manager.
• Shipping, Receiving & Errands: Operate forklift to assist with unloading and staging material. Pick up parts, materials and fuel.

Qualifications

• Able to give clear direction to a crew and follow through on it.

Compensation

• $25/hr.
• Annual Bonus based on personal and company performance.
• Health/dental benefits following three-month probationary period.
• Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; occasional on-call overtime.
