Norbec is growing! We’re looking for aShipping/Receiving Team Leaderto join our day shift team at our new, state-of-the-art facility inStrathroy, Ontario.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the department. You will oversee the receipt and shipment of goods, ensure compliance with procedures, and support production and quality targets. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise all tasks of the shipping/receiving clerk according to established procedures (assigning personnel, managing priorities and urgent matters, etc.);
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the shipping/receiving department (loading and unloading goods and raw materials, etc.);
- Ensure effective collaboration with related departments (Production, Purchasing, Maintenance, Truck Drivers/Carriers, etc.);
- Notify relevant departments of shipping non-conformities or damaged materials and complete necessary documentation;
- Manage email communications and respond to requests;
- Validate the implementation of shipping processes (purchase orders, delivery receipts, etc.);
- Optimize transportation logistics, adhere to loading plans, and ensure photo documentation and proper filing for client records;
- Keep inventory records up to date in the ERP system;
- Ensure documents are available for order preparation according to the schedule;
- Perform functional maintenance as needed to ensure smooth operations (forklift maintenance, warehouse and yard cleanliness, etc.);
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
- Participate in and facilitate information exchanges during shift changes;
- Take part in special projects and continuous improvement/5S tasks;
- Perform occasional duties to meet operational needs.
Education and Experience Required
- 2 to 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving;
- Experience in personnel supervision;
- Experience operating a standard forklift (Bidirectional forklift experience is an asset).
- Comfortable using computer systems and software;
- Ability to understand operational needs quickly;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities;
- Quick decision-making ability;
- Physically capable of lifting loads;
- Strong sense of responsibility;
- Analytical and synthesis skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Strong stress management skills.
