Job summary

Johnson Controls Canada is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to accurately manage all incoming and outgoing shipments within the Receiving department. You will load/unload materials, prepare shipments, and maintain records in our systems.

This role requires forklift operation, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You\'ll coordinate with carriers and other departments while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience in shipping/receiving.
• Experience with material handling equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices.
• Put away received materials to proper storage locations.
• Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records in Sage for reporting and tracking.
• Maintain filing of shipping documents.
• Prepare and schedule shipments and daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers.
• Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries.
• Perform forklift circle checks and routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
• Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Sort and distribute incoming shipments to applicable departments.
• Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off and report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
• Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
• Problem-solve for any causes of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
