Responsibilities

• Precision Auditing: Verify outgoing merchandise against packing lists, bills of lading, and digital pick sheets to guarantee error‑free shipments.
• Product Inspection: Conduct hands‑on checks for correct SKU numbers, exact item counts, and intact packaging before freight staging.
• Staging & Preparation: Assist primary shippers with palletizing, stretch‑wrapping, labeling, and organizing outgoing orders.
• Issue Reporting: Document product damage or inventory variances and report them promptly to supervisors.
• Equipment Operation: Safely use manual or powered pallet jacks to move verified freight to dock staging lanes.
• Documentation Maintenance: Fill out audit logs, tick sheets, and shipping manifests neatly and accurately.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with forklift drivers, general laborers, and shipping clerks to keep warehouse throughput efficient.
• Safety & Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, follow safe lifting practices, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Experience: 6+ months in a shipping helper, order picker, quality control, or general warehouse role.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrated focus on numerical matching, code verification, and quality standards.
• Communication: Functional English (written and verbal) to read pick documents, complete logs, and coordinate with team leaders.
• Physical Capabilities: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stretch, and comfortably stand/walk throughout an 8‑hour shift.
• Safety Gear: CSA‑approved safety footwear (steel‑toe boots/shoes) is mandatory.
• Tech Comfort: Basic digital literacy and familiarity with RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliability: Dependable transit to ensure a consistent 8:00 AM start in Brantford, ON.
