Job description

The Shipper/Receiver oversees and maintains records of all shipping and receiving activities and is responsible for organizing, sorting, and transferring goods from one location to another.

MAJOR DUTIES
  • Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment.
  • Verify, accept, count, and enter all incoming goods into the ERP system, including documenting their condition.
  • Pick and pack orders for delivery or transfer.
  • Create courier waybills on a daily basis using courier platforms.
  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries.
  • Update the status of inbound and outbound orders in the ERP system.
  • Contact carrier representatives regarding the shipment and delivery of materials.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies between orders and goods, including delays, condition issues, weight variances, and quality concerns.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the quantity and contents of products received and shipped in accordance with approved documentation.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and monitor stock levels.
  • Restock merchandise as required.
  • Process returned goods in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Interact with customers, couriers, drivers, and other employees in a professional manner.
  • Perform driving duties as required. A valid driver's licence is required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a similar position.
  • Valid Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Certification in lift truck operation is preferred.
  • Previous industry experience is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of ISO procedures is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience using various courier software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
