Job summary

Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Shipper/Receiver on morning shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant. Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and accurate handling of components for internal and external customers according to a daily production schedule.

Key duties include forklift inspections, loading/unloading, SAP and RF scanner use, inventory record-keeping, and weekly/monthly counts. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have forklift license.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Forklift experience and license required.
• Prior manufacturing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forklift pre-use inspections.
• Secure trailers before loading/unloading activities.
• Check loading tickets.
• Use SAP and RF scanners to locate the required products.
• Move stock in loading area as necessary.
• Use SAP and RF scanners to record work transactions.
• Use forklift to load trailers.
• Handle finished products up to 50lbs.
• Record and track information in inventory control system.
• Verify trucks have been loaded properly.
• Generate manifest and bills of lading.
• Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
• Unload products, trim, and chemicals as needed.
• Perform weekly/monthly inventory count.
• Ensure dock bays and outside dock is clean and safe for use.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

The additional responsibilities as Shipper/Receiver will include:
