Job summary

Cascadia Metals is seeking an experienced Shipping Receiver to manage daily shipping and distribution operations. You will ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered timely.

The role requires meticulous paperwork, coordination with production, and attention to detail in a fast-paced plant environment. Responsibilities include coordinating out-of-province loads, validating shipments, and assisting in mill production when needed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills; comfortable using Microsoft Office and ability to learn specialized inventory software.
  • Extremely well organized, able to work independently or as a team with initiative and flexibility.
  • Self-motivated and able to problem solve in a fast-paced plant environment.
  • Strong communication skills: handwriting, telephone manner and English (oral and written).
  • Forklift certification (training and certification can be provided).
  • Preference for candidates with experience or formal training.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange out of province loads including truck bookings and route planning.
  • Local dispatching support and back up.
  • Check incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Prepare shipping documents and verify against mill orders.
  • Prepare and tag container shipments on arrival.
  • Assist with various other shipping records.
  • Support operations (safety and process improvement).
  • Other duties as required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Shipping Receiver to manage daily shipping and distribution operations. You will be the one to ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner.

A successful shipper/ Receiver should be well-organized and excel in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.

The goal is to ensure that the shipping processes are running smoothly and effectively.

This position involves administrative work requiring meticulous attention to detail in addition to assisting in the mill during production when the shipping/receiving duties are complete.

Responsibilities
  • Arrange out of province loads which requires booking of trucks, organizing the route, coordinating with production for material ready time, etc.
  • Local dispatching support and back up
  • Check incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage
  • Prepare shipping documents & verify against mill orders
  • Prepare & tag container shipments on arrival
