Your Opportunity with PDC:
Precise Drilling Components Ltd. (PDC) is looking for a dedicated full-time Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic Inventory, Shipping & Receiving team. This role is key to ensuring accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory control through the use of PDC’s ERP system, Jobboss2. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining an organized and efficient inventory system that supports operational excellence while minimizing costs. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for success in this safety-sensitive position.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers, and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Assist with internal inventory audits by verifying inventory records against physical counts, investigating discrepancies, and adjusting errors.
- Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another. Arrange transportation and coordinate deliveries to meet customer demand with minimal delay.
- Prepare loads for shipment with all necessary packaging, ensuring required paperwork (e.g., NAFTA, bill of lading, packing slip, commercial invoice)is sent to the appropriate external parties and attached to the shipment.
- Receive incoming products by inspecting contents, verifying packages according to orders, unpacking/unloading to appropriate locations, and coordinating accurate entry in the ERP system.
- Fulfill staging for job requirements by collecting necessary inventory items.
- Document, collect, and catalogue inventory specifications and counts for all new inventory to ensure ordering and maintenance efficiency.
- Streamline shipping and transportation processes to improve efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Jobboss2 preferred).
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Overhead crane and forklift experience (valid certification preferred).
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing slips, NAFTA documentation, and related classification codes.
- WHMIS or other safety training is considered an asset.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to feel, handle or touch, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulders, and use foot/feet to operate machinery.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items weighing over fifty pounds with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- This position requires working in a busy shop and inventory environment, with regular exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical equipment, and occasional fumes or airborne particles. The role involves operating or working around overhead cranes and forklifts, handling materials that require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and moving inventory around the shop and yard. Outdoor work will be necessary during loading and unloading activities.
