Job summary

Home Hardware is seeking a Shift Supervisor to drive warehouse and distribution centre operations. You will lead daily tasks, manage workflows, and ensure safety and productivity across multiple areas, reporting to the Shift Manager. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

The position is a Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm) onsite at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, Ontario.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ experience in a warehouse with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Ability to learn and navigate new systems quickly.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to plan and implement improvements.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team with attention to detail.
• Decisive leader who can motivate others in a team environment.
• Willingness to work additional and varied hours; onsite 5 days a week at the St. Jacobs office.

As a Shift Supervisor you will be a driving force behind our Distribution Centre’s success, overseeing production across multiple areas and ensuring a smooth workflow. With exceptional communication and time management skills, you’ll provide frontline supervisory support that keeps our team moving forward. Led by the Shift Manager, this position will best suit a dynamic leader with a passion for driving results in a fast-paced environment.

Shift available:

Day Shift – Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm

• Lead the daily activities of organizing and assigning work responsibilities to Team Members; effectively communicate all relevant information to ensure proper execution and to meet all necessary job requirements.
• Monitor production and warehouse activities regularly in designated sections to ensure daily targets are met and resources are in place to achieve these targets.
• Maintain a high level of job satisfaction and safety awareness (following the guidelines of the Occupational Health and Safety Act), while maintaining a high level of morale.
• Provide daily/weekly status reports to DC Management indicating progress and updates. Make ongoing recommendations for continued process improvements.
• Ensure all Team Members receive training for assigned tasks.
• Prepare and conduct Team Member progress reviews.
• Perform other duties as requested.

We’re looking for:

• 5 – 10 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment including at least 1 year experience in a leadership role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated leadership capabilities and previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to learn and navigate new systems and functionality quickly, with knowledge of existing HH systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan, obtain information, determine course of action, and follow through to successful resolution. Ability to assess and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with strong attention to detail.
• Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others and can effectively lead and motivate others in a team environment.
• Must be flexible, highly self-motivated, and proactive with a ‘can do’ working style to continually improve and meet goals.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work additional and varied hours to fulfill the responsibilities of position.
• The ability to be onsite 5 days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate the needs of the role.
