Job summary

Ruth & Naomi's Mission in Yarrow, BC is seeking a Coffee Shop Keyholder to oversee daily café operations within its social-enterprise program. You will welcome customers, prepare drinks and food, and support program participants in gaining valuable workplace experience.

The role emphasizes reliability, warmth, and a strong focus on service in a busy community setting, with opportunities to train and grow in a supportive team. This position is onsite and part of broader community work.

Qualifications

• Experience in café, barista, or customer service preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with employment program participants.
• Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and food items.
• Provide excellent and friendly customer service.
• Open and/or close the coffee shop as a keyholder.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash transactions.
• Maintain a clean and organized coffee shop.
• Support participants gaining employment experience in the coffee shop.
• Model positive workplace behaviour and teamwork.
