We currently operate two manufacturing sites in Colborne and Elmira, Ontario, and have supporting warehouses and sales representatives across Canada and in the Northeastern United States.

We have an immediate vacancy for a Shift Foreman at our Colborne, ON manufacturing facility.

Primary responsibilities.

You would assist in the operation of manufacturing plastics by providing leadership and support for all production employees, ensuring high operating standards of safety, quality, housekeeping, service, and efficiency, in alignment with corporate objectives. The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Overseeing/ensuring the completion of operator training
  • Providing training and feedback on employee performance and ensuring employees have clear direction, understand expectations, and are both capable and motivated to achieve operating standards.
  • Completing employee training sign‑offs as required/annually.
  • Conducting First Time Safe meetings and managing all other assigned safety training for production employees
  • Assisting with the auditing and reconciliation of production inventory, and the annual general site inventory count
  • Troubleshooting and implementing process changes to ensure optimal output on all extruders.
  • Investigating non‑conformances and any safety incidents
  • Advising management of any/all product, mechanical or staffing problems that may arise on the production floor.
  • Monitoring employee breaks
  • Monitoring and grinding resin, as required
  • Opening and closing the plant, when required
  • Implementing any new processing techniques acquired from outside training sessions.
  • Maintaining an above average attendance record
  • Position would be on the continental 12‑hour shift rotation. Manage line productivity utilizing visual management tools such as Majik
  • Minimum Grade 12 High School diploma with a related college diploma or university degree being considered a definite asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing or operations environment; experience working in a plastics manufacturing environment would be preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Forklift experience with current certificate
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment; excellent safety record
  • Familiarity with T.D.G, O.H.&S., W.H.M.I.S would be an asset.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement

This is a replacement position earning $37.60/hour.
