Job summary

Pro Trade Corp invites applications for a Sheet metal worker position in Concord. The role involves measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling sheet metal items, using laser/plasma cutters, and reading blueprints. The successful candidate will lead a small team and train apprentices.

Responsibilities

• The candidate must measure and mark sheet metal in accordance with the template.
• The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
• The candidate will be required to use metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
• The candidate must be able to use laser cutters.
• The candidate must use computerised quantity take-off.
• The candidate will be required to grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces.
• The candidate must schedule work.
• The candidate will be required to calculate heating and cooling loads, design duct systems, and select equipment for residential and small commercial construction.
• The candidate will be expected to inspect products for quality and specification compliance.
• The candidate must be able to operate plasma cutters.
• The candidate must create a computerised pattern and layout.
• The candidate will be expected to train apprentices.
• The candidate will be expected to supervise other employees.
• The candidate will be required to cut materials by hand or with power tools.
• The candidate must assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment.
• The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
• The candidate must be able to use CADD and other computer software systems.
• The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
• The candidate will be required to fit and join sheet metal parts.
• The candidate must install sheet metal products in accordance with specifications and building codes.
