Black & McDonald Limited in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to support our Construction Division with ductwork fabrication and installation. This role is hands-on, requiring precise workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

The Edmonton office will relocate to Acheson, AB before year-end. The successful candidate will read drawings, install HVAC components, and collaborate with a multi-trade team while following all codes and client specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in Sheet Metal Worker apprenticeship program at 2nd or 3rd year level.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications considered an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation will be required.
• Physically capable of lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights in various weather and job-site conditions.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to health and safety regulations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Enrollment in the Sheet Metal Worker apprenticeship program at a 2nd or 3rd year level
• Additional industry‑related training, technical courses, or certifications relevant to sheet metal fabrication and installation are considered an asset

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications considered an asset
• Experience installing HVAC ductwork, ventilation systems, roofing components, architectural sheet metal, and related products
• Experience using rigging and hoisting equipment considered an asset
• Demonstrated experience performing quality inspections and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
