Job summary

Description

The course intensifies foundational work on voice and movement through class exercises and further develops acting techniques introduced in DRS121Y5with a focus on presence and authenticity. In addition to these components, students expand their understanding of backstage processes through crew work supporting third- and fourth-year productions. Crew tasks are assigned according to individualized schedules, typically concentrated in 3- to 6-week periods and including some work in the evenings and/or on weekends.

Duties

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development,administrationand marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades.

Minimum Qualifications

BFA/BA in Acting and/or Theatre, equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience; strong evidence of established and ongoing professional experience; currency in contemporary approaches to teaching acting grounded in improvisation, ensemble work, and devising, particularly techniques derived from approaches based in Lecoq training; clear evidence of teaching expertise.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
