Lethbridge College seeks Sessional Instructors for its School of Environmental Sciences. Candidates will teach and develop curriculum for the Natural Resource Compliance and Conservation Enforcement programs from September 2024 to April 2025. About the Position: Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Centre, the successful candidate will be responsible for instruction, curriculum development, and fostering relationships with the broader Resource Enforcement industry. Applicants must have a strong commitment to effective teaching and possess a demonstrated ability, as well as a keen interest, to lead field experiences for students. The instructor will ensure an inclusive learning environment. Instructor training will be provided through the New Instructor Training Program.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative, innovative, and supportive participant within the School of Environmental Sciences and the Centre for Technology, Environment & Design. The successful applicant must demonstrate: 1) commitment to lifelong learning, 2) respect for students and colleagues, 3) interest and participation in the goals and objectives of the School of Environmental Sciences, and 4) commitment to Lethbridge College overall.
Position Details: The successful candidate will fulfill responsibilities such as preparing and teaching multiple sections, demonstrating commitment to professional development, and:
Courses: The Natural Resource Compliance diploma program and the Conservation Enforcement degree program at Lethbridge College are industry-leading and developed with agency stakeholders. Instructors lead students through experience and example, instilling knowledge and skills via lecture, lab, and field experiences. Graduates are eligible for enforcement roles from inspector to investigator in natural resource agencies and traditional policing.
