The University of Prince Edward Island’s Faculty of Education invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach ED-4972-99 Practicum II (taught in French) in winter 2027. Instructors must be available for in-person teaching and meet a clear background check requirement.

The Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor to teach the following course in winter 2027. The offering of each course listed is conditional pending final enrolment numbers. All positions are subject to final budgetary and administrative approval.

Please note: the courses offered below will be taught in person.

ED-4972-99 Practicum II (taught in French)

Students will complete a 10-week teaching placement with the guidance of a Faculty practicum advisor and a host mentor. Students will further develop planning and teaching effective lessons, themes, and unit plans, personal classroom management skills, and assessment.
This course primarily involves in-school supervision of up to ten pre-service teachers as well as 3-4 meetings with groups of students during the semester.

This course is offered in French from February 8 to April 30, 2027.

Note: The public school system requires that all instructors possess a clean and valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.

Ideal candidates will have a Master of Education or equivalent degree. Successful candidates will normally have school-based experience in a Canadian public K-12 system. Qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Faculty of Education’s Sessional Roster and the Faculty’s full‑time and term contract faculty members will be given priority.
