Description

The Department of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Winter 2027 Term BCEM 393 Sessional Instructor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction (delivering lectures), and Course and Lab Coordination of this 3-unit course, which will be offered in person.

Course Description:
Biochemistry 393 - Introduction to Biochemistry

BCEM 393 provides a study of the structure and function of biomolecules along with an introduction to metabolism and energy transduction. The laboratory component provides an overview of current biochemical techniques for studying proteins, enzymes and metabolic pathways.

Winter 2027 Term Dates:

January 4 - April 30, 2027

Delivery Mode:

All course components will be delivered in-person

Lecture Schedule:

MoWeFr 09:00 - 09:50 and 11:00 - 11:50

Qualifications:

The successful candidate requires a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred, evidence of teaching effectiveness. Previous teaching experience in the field of biochemistry will be considered an important asset, preferably in this course.
