Job summary

Manitoulin Transport is seeking a Service Writer to lead scheduling of equipment service and repairs within the service operation. You will work with the shop manager/foreman to keep timelines and workflows on track, ensuring accurate work-in-progress processing.

You will collaborate with shop mechanics to ensure service reports are completed timely and accurately, while supporting cost analysis and continuous improvements in operations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education completed.
• At least 5 years in service operations.
• Experience with AS-400 systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze costs and drive reductions.
• Technical and mechanical problem-solving abilities.

Job Description

We are looking for a Service Writer to join our team! This position will provide technical direction and accountability for scheduling all equipment service and repairs with the internal team within the service operation. The Service Writer will also collaborate with the shop manager/foreman to ensure timelines and process flow are maintained to support accurate and timely work-in-progress processing.

Collaborate with the Shop Mechanics to ensure all service reports provided are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum post-secondary education
• Minimum 5 years experience in service operations
• Knowledge of the AS-400
• Good organizational skills
• Good communication and decision-making skills
• Technical, Mechanical, and problem-solving skills
• Focused on cost analysis and cost reduction

Additional Information

Hourly Rate Up to $31.70per hour based on experience
