Job summary

Pinnacle Equipment Co in Abbotsford, BC, is seeking a Service Writer to support the Service department's daily operations. You will be the main contact for customers, ensure accurate service documentation, and coordinate service activities efficiently.

Responsibilities include processing work orders, invoicing with approvals, maintaining customer and equipment records, scheduling, warranty support, and assisting with accounts payable related to service operations.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education or related experience.
  • Experience in a service, parts, or dealership environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude or industry knowledge.
  • Proficient in computer systems and MS Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Process service work orders, including opening, updating, and closing.
  • Prepare and verify invoices in accordance with approvals from the Service Manager
  • Maintain accurate customer and equipment records in the system
  • Coordinate service scheduling and communicate timelines with customers
  • Conduct customer follow-ups and support service-related inquiries
  • Assist with warranty administration, including submissions, follow-ups, and documentation
  • Support service campaigns and manufacturer program requirements
  • Maintain organized service files and documentation
  • Assist with accounts payable related to service operations as required

Summary

We are seeking a Service Writer to join our team in our Abbotsford location. The Service Writer will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Service department. This position acts as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring accurate service documentation, timely communication, and efficient coordination of service activities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced service office and shop environment
  • Frequent interaction with customers, technicians, and internal departments.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasons as required
  • Occasional physical activity, including lifting parts and operating equipment (e.g., forklift)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move parts and equipment as required
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and desk work
  • Manual dexterity required for computer and administrative tasks
Compensation
  • $28-$32 per hour depending on experience
