Alberta Health Services in Edmonton is seeking a Service Worker I to support adults and the emergency department at U of A Hospital. You will transport patients and equipment between care areas and help maintain supply flows in a busy tertiary emergency site.

The attendant is an integral member of the health care team, supporting Adults and Stollery in a family centered care within a busy tertiary Emergency.
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C REQUIRED) - Healthcare Provider Registration (must attach certificate). One year experience as a porter/attendant required. English language comprehension, both oral and written is required. Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job i.e. pushing stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending, reaching, is required. Completion of Medical Terminology required.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to work in a team environment is essential. Self-motivated individual able to prioritize and organize workload, in a busy patient care environment.
