Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Service Technician for our Construction & Forestry branch in Kamloops, BC to work the afternoon shift, Monday to Thursday, 2:30 pm–12:30 am. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment in a shop setting.

You will diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and document work orders using tools such as John Deere Service Advisor. Strong customer service and safety commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent is preferred.
• Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently evaluate working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, and repair heavy-duty equipment.
• Order parts and document actions taken on work orders.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems.
• Ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
• Document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis in computer systems (e.g. John Deere Service Advisor).
• Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Service Technician for our Construction & Forestry branch to work the afternoon shift, Monday - Thursday, 2:30 pm-12:30 am, at the location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy-duty equipment

• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
