Job summary

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. is seeking a Wind Turbine Operations and Maintenance Technician for our Carleton, Quebec facilities.

You will operate wind turbines, identify malfunctions, and coordinate preventive maintenance with the O&M team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient energy production. The role requires a minimum of 3 years in wind turbine operations or maintenance, French fluency, and an AEC in wind turbine maintenance with applicable electrical qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in wind turbine operations or maintenance
  • AEC in wind turbine maintenance or equivalent
  • Valid Electrician Competency Certificate (Apprentice or Journeyman) for Quebec

Responsibilities

  • Operate wind turbines ensuring proper operation and identify malfunctions
  • Plan and perform preventive maintenance and keep service records
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance team to repair defects

Your contribution!

Reporting to the Lead Techincian, the person in this position contributes to the reliability and performance of the wind farm by ensuring the operation and maintenance of the facilities in accordance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Your day-to-day!
  • Ensure the proper operation of wind turbines and identify any malfunctions that may occur;
  • Identify, locate, and repair defects in collaboration with members of the operations and maintenance team;
  • Plan and perform preventive maintenance; maintain maintenance and service records;
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at all times.
Your skills, our requirements!
  • A strong sense of responsibility, a commitment to doing the job right, and a safety-first attitude at all times;
  • Resourceful and able to work well under pressure;
  • Ability to perform manual labor or supervisory duties outdoors despite harsh weather conditions;
  • Ability to climb an 80-meter vertical ladder without assistance and to perform work at heights. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to climb a wind turbine within a reasonable amount of time during the recruitment process;
  • Available to work overtime and be on call when required;
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in wind turbine operations or maintenance. Any other experience deemed relevant to the position will be considered;
  • Fluency in French;
  • AEC (College certificate) in wind turbine maintenance; training in electromechanics or electrical engineering will be considered and given preference;
  • Hold a valid Electrician Competency Certificate (Apprentice or Journeyman) authorizing the performance of electrical work in Québec.
  • Have strong computer skills: relevant experience with SCADA systems and PLCs is a plus.

  • This position is an O3TE level.
