Job summary

Innovative Automation Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to manage service requests for customers and support the RoboTape division.

You will work with the Service Coordinator to ensure timely responses and high customer satisfaction, with hands-on electrical and mechanical expertise and global travel as needed. The role requires a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics and 5+ years in automation or automotive manufacturing, with strong communication skills and knowledge of PLCs and

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent Specialized Experience.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience within the Automation or Automotive Manufacturing Field on Mechanical Assemblies, PLC controls, and Robotics.
• Lean manufacturing concepts knowledge.
• Electrical Code and CSA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Process service requests from internal and external customers as directed by the Service Coordinator.
• Provide technical phone support to verify dimensional fit and alignment, functionality, and performance of customer systems.
• Collaborate with customers to gather technical information to determine action plans.
• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine function and set-up requirements.
• Determine root cause analysis and put corrective procedures in place.
• Coordinate with internal teams to schedule service requests.
• Analyze service data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Train customers on Controls, setup procedures, and maintenance.
• Travel as required globally.

Job Opportunity:

We are looking for a Service Technician to be responsible for performing service requests for all internal and external customers. The Service Technician will report to the Service Coordinator who is the primary point of contact between customers and technical service teams, ensuring timely response & delivery of service requests while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

What you'll do:

• Process all service requests from internal and external customers as directed by the Service Coordinator.
• Provide technical phone support to verify dimensional fit and alignment, functionality, and performance of customer systems.
• Collaborate with customers to gather the appropriate technical & situational lead up information to determine action plans and deliverables.
• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts as detailed in the Project Requirements Form to determine function of the finished machine and set-up requirements.
• Determine root cause analysis and put accurate corrective procedures in place.
• Possess the knowledge as to whom to collaborate with to get internal technical support as needed.
• Coordinate with internal teams to schedule service requests.
• Analyze service requests data to identify trends and opportunities for process & equipment improvement.
• Train the customer on Controls circuit, set-up procedures & maintenance, tooling changes, set-up procedures & maintenance.
• Travel as required globally

What you'll need:

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent Specialized Experience.
• Minimum 5+ Years' Experience within the Automation or Automotive Manufacturing Field on Mechanical Assemblies, PLC controls, and Robotics.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts
• Working understanding of electrical and PLC function
• Strong Electrical and/ or Mechanical assembly knowledge of custom automation
• Electrical Code and CSA Knowledge
• Electrical and Mechanical Tool Knowledge
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel as required Globally
