Job description

We are looking for a service technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance of automatic, manual, and revolver doors while ensuring compliance with national standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide polite, professional, and responsive service to customers.
  • Perform emergency service, diagnosis, repair, preventive/scheduled maintenance, operating/maintenance instructions, and upgrades on automatic, manual, and revolver doors, covering both company and competitor products.
  • Continuously research and identify revenue opportunities related to complementary services such as upgrades, modifications, service contracts, sales of parts, and new equipment.
  • Ensure high‑quality work on service repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
  • Follow detailed, complete, and compliant service protocols and procedures.
  • View the role from a broad perspective, ensuring day‑to‑day operations contribute to overall performance, customer experience, and company/service initiatives and goals.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory and truck inventory to support the territory and First Time Fix KPIs.
  • Maintain the company vehicle in appearance (inside and outside) and adhere to the vehicle maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance in accordance with the company’s appearance policy and represent the brand professionally.
  • Label completed equipment and door assignments with approved company‑logo decals.
  • Respond accurately, in detail, and promptly to all administrative responsibilities such as time recording, expense reports, service reports, client file updates, checklist completion, IVR recording, and departure.
  • Interface with the customer, end user, and general contractor in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Participate in training programs offered and remain AAADM certified.
  • Carry out all work safely, preventing accidents for yourself, colleagues, end users, and the general public.
  • Wear and maintain personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Assist with all inventories as indicated, maintain vehicle inventory for installation tools and supplies, and keep vehicles clean and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding site arrival, check‑in, service updates, equipment restoration, and departure—including IVR, paperwork, and special requests.
  • Ensure the customer relationship is priority, answering all questions and concerns to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, modify, build, and test various types of electrical, electronic, and mechanical devices supporting automatic and manual doors.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles to operationalize equipment and solve complex problems.
  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong electromechanical ability.
  • Valid CCQ 310 Glazed Mechanic Board card (if not held, one will be provided for qualifying candidates).
  • Desired AAADM Certification.
  • Cooperative communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks requiring continuous lifting, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling for extended periods, and using power tools.
  • Understanding of basic electrical circuits and relay logic.
  • Responsible, adaptable, timely, and reliable.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Respect for all local traffic laws and maintenance of a good driving record.
