Job summary

Brogan Fire & Safety in Calgary seeks a Service Technician to perform testing, repairs and recertifications on safety equipment, including SCBA and gas-detection gear. You will manage work orders, maintain mobile unit stock, and document inspections and schedules while collaborating with sales and management.

The role requires English fluency, detail orientation, and a valid Class 5 license. Training is provided; occasional lifting is required.

Responsibilities

• Test, repair and recertify customer-owned safety equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Arrange for customer authorization of work orders and maintain records.
• Maintain stock levels in the mobile service unit and complete logs.
• Inspect and document equipment, driving logs, and service notes.
• Grow the customer portfolio by coordinating with sales and management.
• Assist teammates as schedule allows; perform other duties as assigned.

Service TechnicianStatus:Regular, Full timeLocation:Calgary, AlbertaJob DescriptionReporting to the Business Centre's Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for completing a variety of required services and customer support both in house as well as in a mobile capacity, on safety related equipment. Duties may include: SCBA and gas detection certification service and repairs, regular maintenance service and recertification of breathing air compressor systems, Quantitative Fit testing, Inspection/certification of fall arrest equipment.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage, Test, Repair and Re-Certify customer owned equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local standards;Arrange for Customer authorization of work orders;Maintain adequate stock levels in mobile unit;Create and maintain accurate records such as vehicle inspections, driving logs, equipment inspections, and schedules, daily invoices, timesheets, flow tests and notes for any special circumstances such as condemning equipment;Ensure updating of customer contact list and schedule of required services;Develop and manage growth in the portfolio by working closely with customers, our Sales department and Management;Assist other staff with their duties when schedule and workload allows for such;Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Professional and courteous demeanor;Attention to detail;Troubleshooting;Excellent organizational skills;Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English;Manufacturer training in inspection and maintenance of safety related equipment or industry training would be an asset;Valid Class 5 driver's license;Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically;Training and Certification will be provided to the right individual where applicable.What’s in it for youBrogan Fire & Safety has grown to be the preferred distributor and service provider for the most recognized and respected manufacturers in the world of safety.
