Job summary

Brogan Fire & Safety is seeking a Service Technician in Calgary, Alberta. You will perform on-site and in-house testing, maintenance and recertification of safety equipment, including SCBA and gas detection systems.

The role requires driving to client sites and maintaining accurate service records. Responsibilities include managing work orders, coordinating with sales and management, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Troubleshooting technical issues on safety equipment.
  • Attention to detail in servicing and testing equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills for records, logs and schedules.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Professional and courteous interaction with customers and colleagues.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license required. Transportation to mobile units may be needed.
  • Training will be provided for certification and inspection tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, test, repair and re-certify customer-owned equipment per specs.
  • Arrange for customer authorization of work orders.
  • Maintain stock levels in mobile unit.
  • Record vehicle inspections, driving logs and equipment inspections.
  • Update customer contact list and service schedules.
  • Grow the portfolio by coordinating with customers, sales and management.
  • Assist team as workload allows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Business Centre's Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for completing a variety of required services and customer support both in house as well as in a mobile capacity, on safety related equipment. Duties may include: SCBA and gas detection certification service and repairs, regular maintenance service and recertification of breathing air compressor systems, quantitative fit testing, inspection/certification of fall arrest equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage, test, repair and re-certify customer owned equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local standards;
  • Arrange for customer authorization of work orders;
  • Maintain adequate stock levels in mobile unit;
  • Create and maintain accurate records such as vehicle inspections, driving logs, equipment inspections, schedules, daily invoices, timesheets, flow tests and notes for any special circumstances such as condemning equipment;
  • Ensure updating of customer contact list and schedule of required services;
  • Develop and manage growth in the portfolio by working closely with customers, our sales department and management;
  • Assist other staff with their duties when schedule and workload allows for such;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Manufacturer training in inspection and maintenance of safety related equipment or industry training would be an asset;

  • Training and certification will be provided to the right individual where applicable.
