Red Ram in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join as Service Shop Foreman, leading a shop team and applying hands-on diagnostics and engine expertise.

You will mentor apprentices, support shop operations, and drive high-quality repairs while maintaining a safe and professional environment. This full-time on-site role offers growth and strong teamwork in a busy shop setting.

Qualifications

• Shop Leadership: 5 years (required)
• HD or Journeyman Truck Mechanic: 5 years (required)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to technicians and apprentices
• Support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines
• Serve as the primary technical resource for complex engine, drivability, electrical, and aftertreatment concerns
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians through hands-on training and coaching
• Monitor shop productivity and workflow, helping ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
• Work closely with the Service Manager to identify and address operational challenges that impact shop performance
• Review repairs and diagnostics to support quality workmanship and consistent repair processes
• Complete repairs and diagnostics as required while leading by example on the shop floor
• Promote a safe, professional, and team-oriented work environment

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team as Service Shop Foreman.

This role is ideal for a technician with strong diagnostic and engine expertise who is looking to take the next step into a leadership position while remaining actively involved in the shop. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for the team, support shop operations, and play a key role in mentoring and developing apprentices and technicians.

What Will You Do?
