Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Saint-Jérôme seeks a Service Manager to lead a department, oversee purchasing, inventory and pricing, and ensure readiness to meet sales targets.

Responsibilities include developing policies, enforcing hygiene and safety standards, hiring and coaching staff, and handling cash operations with accuracy. If you have strong retail leadership and POS knowledge, we want to talk.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a retail or service department.
• High school diploma or college degree with management experience and POS knowledge.

What might a typical day look like?

As a department manager, you will :

• manage purchasing, inventory, P.L.U. price lists and meet sales per hour/person to ensure business readiness;
• develop and manage policies and procedures, adhere to government hygiene and occupational health and safety standards and ensure that they are consistently applied and adhered to by all department employees
• selects, trains, evaluates and motivates the members of his or her team, surrounding them with competent people;
• carry out the various operations related to the accounting of the cash registers (money transfers, deposits, controls, weekly verifications, etc.)
