Job summary

Rush Truck Centres of Canada in Windsor is seeking a Service Manager to lead the branch's service department, ensure OHSA compliance and drive profitability.

Reporting to the General Manager, the role requires strong leadership, vendor relationships, and the ability to schedule work hours and develop technicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college/post-secondary education preferred.
  • Five years combined experience in Heavy Truck, Automotive or related industry experience preferred.
  • Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T) or Licensed Automotive Technician (310S) certification is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; outgoing, positive thinker and self-motivated.
  • Sound decision making, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Competency in customer service, administrative skills, team building, proficiency with software and computers - SAP experience is an asset.
  • Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid driver’s license and Drivers Abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure OHSA regulations and Health and Safety Policy compliance.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, development and supervision for all service department employees at the location.
  • Focus on customer service to achieve high satisfaction.
  • Lead monthly and annual service volume forecasts and improve profitability.
  • Schedule work hours to ensure efficient operation of the service department.
  • Manage and determine training for technicians and service advisors.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor company policies, procedures and strategy.
  • Promote and develop positive corporate culture.

Rush Truck Centres of Canada is a part of Rush Enterprises, the largest commercial vehicle dealership group in North America. We represent a wide range of industry-leading truck and trailer brands backed by parts, sales, service, collision repair, lease and rental support. With 15 locations in Ontario and almost 600 employees and growing, we are looking for top talent to join our team.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Service Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support to the branch. This is a full-time position at our Windsor location from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
  • Provide overall leadership, motivation, development, and supervision for all service department employees at the location.
  • Focus and achieve a high level of customer service at the location, leading to a high level of measured customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in setting monthly and annual service volume forecasts for the location and lead the department with goal to consistently improve profitability.
  • Schedule work hours to ensure efficient operation of the service department as per current operating hours.
  • Manage and determine the training program for technicians and service advisors to ensure proper levels of proficiency are maintained.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Implement, execute, and monitor the Company’s policies, procedures, and strategy.
  • Promote and develop positive corporate culture both internally and externally.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College or post-secondary education is preferred.
