Job summary

Green Diamond Equipment in Antigonish, NS is seeking a Service Manager to lead our service department, drive performance, and develop people.

You will manage shop operations, schedule repairs, monitor budgets, and partner with sales to meet customer needs in a busy rural dealership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a managerial role (Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, Supervisor, etc.).
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with team members to achieve results.
• Basic understanding of service department financials and ability to analyze internal reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize the service team to maximize performance and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate job expectations, monitor results, and coach staff to improve outcomes.
• Follow manufacturer warranty procedures in the service department.
• Use business systems to create and monitor work/repair orders.
• Serve as main point of contact for customers and sales on scheduling repairs and updates.
• Create schedules and staffing based on priority and skills.
• Monitor department budgets and expenses.
• Participate in recruiting and developing training plans for service staff.

We're looking for an exceptional Service Manager to join our Antigonish, NSteam and lead a department that's committed to delivering outstanding service, developing people, and driving results.

Purpose

The Service Manager will direct and organize the service team to maximize performance and maintain customer satisfaction in a busy branch environment.

Responsibilities

As a leader of service operations, the Service Manager will:

• Maintain a safe environment and ensures customer satisfaction
• Successfully communicate job expectations, monitor job results and coach employees to achieve optimal results
• Ensure all manufacturer warranty procedures are followed by service department staff
• Utilize business systems to create and monitor work/repair orders
• Main point of contact for both customers and sales department when scheduling repairs, creatingquotes and providing status updates
• Create schedules and staffing requirements, and assign jobs based on priority and technical skill set
• Monitor department efficiencies, operational budget, and expenses
• Actively participates in recruiting, staffing and development of training plans for all service department staff

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in managerial role (Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, Supervisor, etc.).
• Above average computer skills (Microsoft Office etc.)
• A proven ability to effectively communicate with team members to achieve desired results.
• A basic understanding of service department financials, and the capability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
• Experience in the agricultural, heavy equipment, or related industry considered an asset.
