Job summary

Rush Truck Centres of Canada is seeking a Service Advisor to schedule service repairs and track progress through the shift. This full-time role is on a Monday to Friday afternoon shift from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, within our Ontario network of locations.

You will prepare written estimates, obtain approvals, describe repairs to customers, manage repair orders, and coordinate with parts and service teams while ensuring OHSA and safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with software and computers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customers with complete and accurate written cost estimates and timelines.

  • Explain completed work and charges to customers; obtain signatures and payment methods.
  • Cross-train as parts counter person and support OHSA compliance.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service repair work and following the progress of repairs throughout the shift. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday afternoon shift from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am.


Responsibilites



  • Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.

  • Scheduling service appointments.

  • Provides customers with complete and accurate written cost estimates, establish time required to complete work.

  • Prepares orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.

  • Obtain customer signature on repair orders.

  • Establish customer's method of payment.

  • Obtain credit approvals.

  • Check on progress of repairs and contact customers regarding changes in the estimate or promised time.

  • Review and close repair orders.

  • Explain completed work and all charges to customers

  • Cross-trained as a parts counter person.

  • Comply with all relevant Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Expected to have a positive attitude and promote a healthy work environment.

  • Other related duties as assigned by management from time to time.


Basic Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College or post-secondary education is preferred.

  • Previous experience in the heavy truck, Automotive or related industry is preferred.

  • Competency in the following areas required: customer service, administrative skills, team building, proficiency with software and computers.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • SAP experience is an asset

  • Criminal Record Check.

  • Valid driver’s license and driver's abstract.
