Job summary

Casino Nanaimo LP is seeking a friendly and professional Food & Beverage team member to provide exceptional service in a high-volume setting in Nanaimo, Canada.

The role requires thorough knowledge of the menu, ability to take orders, deliver items promptly, and maintain cleanliness. Willingness to obtain Serving it Right Certification and Gaming worker registration is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent working experience.
• Minimum one (1) year of serving experience in a high-volume establishment.
• Bartending experience - an asset
• Willing to obtain & maintain Serving it Right Certification, and Gaming worker registration

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service to guests in an upbeat, positive and professional manner;
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items available;
• Takes food and beverage orders from guests in a friendly manner and provides recommendations to guests on special menu;
• Delivers food and beverage items to guests from the bar and kitchen in a prompt manner;
• Restocks, cleans and organizes all related work equipment and areas;
• Processes all cash and credit card transactions utilizing the P.O.S. system;
• Ensures accurate cash handling and balancing of sales and/or cash float at the end of the shift;
• Clears dirty dishes, empty glassware and cleans tables properly;
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
• Performs other duties as assigned.
