Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to manage Azure IaaS and on-prem virtualization in Calgary. You will administer VM deployments, storage, backups, and high availability in a production environment.

The role requires strong Windows Server administration, Active Directory with GPOs, DNS and DHCP, plus experience with VMware vSphere ESXi and Nutanix AHV in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering Azure IaaS environments.
• Strong Windows Server administration and AD with GPOs, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere ESXi, Nutanix).
• Proficient in incident and change management using ITSM tools.
• Scripting with PowerShell and ability to work on-call.

Responsibilities

• Administer Azure IaaS environments, including VMs, networking, storage, backup, and high availability.
• Manage Windows Server installation, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain Active Directory with GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and authentication across hybrid environments.
• Handle incidents and changes using ITSM tools; perform troubleshooting and remediation.
• Provide on-site production support and on-call coverage.
• Oversee VM provisioning and lifecycle on VMware vSphere ESXi and Nutanix; plan capacity and upgrades.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• The candidate must have strong hands-on experience administering Azure IaaS environments, Windows Server (201620192022), VMware vSphere ESXi, Nutanix Management, Data Center Operations and Active Directory including GPOs, DNS, and DHCP.
• The engineer should be proficient in incident and change management using ITSM tools, possess strong troubleshooting skills, and have working knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
• Ability to work independently in an onsite, production critical environment with on call support responsibilities is essential.
• Responsible for administering and supporting Azure IaaS environments, including virtual machines, networking, storage, backup, and high availability services.
• The role also requires strong hands-on expertise in Windows Server (201620192022) administration, covering installation, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, and advanced troubleshooting.
• The engineer must have deep experience in virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere ESXivCenter and Nutanix AHVAOS, to manage VM provisioning, lifecycle operations, cluster management, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• In addition, the role encompasses management of core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and authentication services, ensuring secure and reliable directory and identity operations across hybrid environments.
