Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an SEO Strategist, Roofing, to own search efforts for a portfolio of roofing clients. You will drive the technical roadmap, set content priorities, and guide how clients see movement in rankings and visibility.

You will coordinate with writers and AI to produce drafts, optimize on-page, and implement local SEO strategies while reporting progress and roadmaps to clients across markets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on in SEO: you have run the audits and made the fixes yourself.
• Fluency with Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Agency experience across several clients at once.
• Clear spoken English with US clients on live calls.

Responsibilities

• Own Technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema, site architecture.
• Lead keyword strategy, on-page optimization and content priorities with writers/AI.
• Drive visibility in AI search (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) and traditional results.
• Manage links, local search and multi-location SEO as needed.
• Provide quarterly client roadmap and GA4/Search Console reporting.

As SEO Strategist, Roofing you own search for a book of roofing clients (roofing contractors operating across several markets): the technical roadmap, the content priorities and the ranking story when the client asks what moved. You are the strategic voice at the table, and you make the calls.

What You Will Own

• Technical SEO: crawl, indexation, site speed, schema and site architecture.
• Keyword strategy, on-page optimization and content priorities, with writers and AI producing the drafts.
• Getting clients found in AI search: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, alongside classic organic results.
• Links, local search and multi-location SEO where the client needs it.
• Reporting in GA4 and Search Console, and the quarterly roadmap for each client.

What You Bring
